Bathroom windows have a tricky job: let in light and air, keep out prying eyes, and survive constant humidity. Here is how to choose well.
Why frosted glass is the default choice
Frosted glass is translucent — it scatters light so you get brightness and privacy at the same time. That balance is exactly what a bathroom needs, which is why it is the most popular choice across Indian homes.
Always choose toughened (safety) glass
Bathrooms are wet and slippery. Use toughened frosted glass (minimum 5mm) so that, in the rare event of breakage, it crumbles into blunt granules rather than sharp shards.
Pattern options
Beyond plain satin frost, decorative patterns add character:
- Satin / plain frost — clean and modern
- Floral & leaf — soft, traditional
- Mandala — decorative, culturally resonant
- Geometric — contemporary
Pair it with the right frame
Frosted glass sits beautifully in a uPVC window, which itself resists the humidity that destroys wooden frames. For the door, a waterproof PVC door completes a bathroom that shrugs off moisture.
Maintenance
Frosted glass cleans like any glass — a damp cloth and mild cleaner. The texture is on one face; wipe both sides for clarity.
